Bio

Janet Song is the Founder of Lumi Yoga. She is a Yoga Instructor, Event Planner and Wellness Entrepreneur. She is also a lawyer!

Janet’s journey to Lumi Yoga was long and winding. Over 10 years ago, she started out by mopping floors as an energy exchange student at Hot Yoga Wellness in Toronto. She then went on to teach at that same studio.

Janet eventually left the studio to go to law school and then practice litigation on Bay Street, where she worked on high profile files alongside Canada’s top litigators.

Janet felt called back to wellness after experiencing a period of burnout and grief. Yoga, meditation, sound baths and other wellness modalities were important tools on Janet’s healing journey. After deep reflection and soul searching, she made the decision to pursue yoga and wellness full-time, and Lumi Yoga was born.

Janet is a proud Korean-Canadian and the daughter of Korean convenience store owners. She grew up in Southwestern Ontario in a village called Paisley, where she lived with her family above the store.

When she is not teaching yoga or planning wellness events, Janet can be found outside enjoying a hike, swim or ski, and spending quality time with her husband and cat.
